Initial Requirements:
The client planned to deploy a suite of intelligent alarm products for their managed commercial buildings. The suite required inclusion of smoke, heat, carbon monoxide (CO), intrusion, and water leak sensors. The core demand was that all products must support a unified APP platform for remote centralized management. Users needed to be able to remotely confirm alarms (true/false alerts), identify affected zones via the APP, and store 5-8 emergency contacts. This project extended far beyond standard logo printing or cosmetic customization, involving deep integration and development of the products' core functionalities.
Core Challenges:
Deep Functional Integration: Required hardware-level integration of multiple independent alarm functions (e.g., smoke detection and intrusion), involving redesign of PCBs and underlying firmware, representing high technical complexity.
Stable and Reliable Multi-path Alerting: Ensuring 100% delivery of alarm notifications to users and emergency contacts, even in extreme scenarios where the local Wi-Fi network is unstable or completely down, was paramount.
Product Customization and Development: The lack of a commercially available water leak sensor that perfectly met the client's functional requirements for seamless interoperability necessitated the development of a new product from the ground up.
Systematic Interconnectivity: Guaranteeing that five different alarm devices could form a stable network under the same protocol and present a unified, clear interface for management within the single APP.
Our Solution
Confronting this complex systems engineering challenge, we formed a dedicated project team and delivered the following integrated custom solution:
Communication Architecture Design:
Proposed a dual-communication architecture utilizing "Wi-Fi + RF Radio Frequency." Wi-Fi enables remote control and real-time status synchronization via the APP, while RF radio creates a stable mesh network between devices, ensuring reliable local communication.
Redundant Alert Path Assurance:
Leveraged the Tuya cloud platform to activate an SMS Message service for the client. This creates a critical "second lifeline," ensuring alarm messages are sent via cellular network as SMS texts to preset contacts even if the building's Wi-Fi is completely unavailable.
Hardware Function Fusion Innovation:
Integrated intrusion detection functionality (e.g., for unauthorized entry) with smoke sensing into a single device. This involved redesigning the PCB and developing fusion algorithms to create a multi-criteria alarm, simplifying installation and improving space utilization.
Custom Water Leak Sensor Development:
Undertook the independent development of a water leak sensor tailored to the client's specific requirements for sensitivity, mounting, and aesthetics. This sensor seamlessly integrates into the system via the RF protocol, completing the suite's functional matrix.
